Field Application Engineer (m/w/d)

for the Munich office

Your job:

In this technical-sales-oriented position in Field Application Engineering, your tasks will include identifying and driving forward strategic opportunities to win customers. Our customers serve markets in almost all electronics markets such as high frequency applications like 5G as well as IoT or very power sensitive markets that are very performance dependent. We support our customers in all technical aspects from lead management to successful tape out.

The main tasks are:

  • Serve as key technical interface to customer and coordinate technical interaction
  • Drive design win acquisition strategy and process
  • Develop customized technical presentations and proposals to assist customers in the evaluation of our solutions. Formulate customer requirements, promote a compelling design solution and convey the value proposition of our customer
  • Selection of the Technology and Supervising IP Mapping
  • Identify and propose solutions to gaps and bottlenecks in our customers’ product and service portfolio to meet customer requirements
  • Collaborate and leverage our customer’s Product Marketing/ Design Solutions/ Technology Development teams and provide real time customer feedback
  • Understand competitive design/ technology/ product landscape including emerging technology trends and competitive threats
  • Continuously learn about the customer and product, developing relationships, gathering intelligence, uncovering new opportunities
  • Ensure that issues/ obstacles/ questions to a design win are resolved either directly or by engaging internal experts. Manage critical customer programs as they relate to the design process inside our customer
  • Overcome internal system/communication limitations through persistency, identifying and driving towards applicable solution
  • Gather, summarize and drive team to close the technical gaps in our offerings that result in design win losses and/or misses in new revenue opportunities
  • Meet design win and tape out related goals

Your profile:

  • Bachelor’s/ Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or any equivalent education with long lasting years of experience in Semiconductors (Technology or IC-Design)
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong sales attitude
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and solution orientation
  • Customer facing and Technical experience (ASIC) are a must
  • Persistent and focused on solution when encountering internal system/ communication obstacles
  • Exposure to product design and IP are required
  • Strong knowledge and competence in ASIC- or IC-design as well as knowledge of Stat-of-the-Art ASIC- or IC-Design flow
  • Past participation in roles with exposure to or within a semiconductor foundry as well as experience with advanced SOC technology are highly desirable
  • Strong knowledge and competence to value-add solutions including RF/Analogue/Mixed Signal as well as NVM is highly desirable
  • Program management skills and experience are highly desirable
  • Excellent English language skills as well as a further language (e.g. German, French) is a plus
  • Willingness to travel on a regularly basis within EMEA and Worldwide is highly required
