Job description: The Logistics and Trade Compliance Manager is responsible for the inbound and interoffice activities within EMEA for all sites of our client (> 12 offices, all over Europe & Israel). The candidate has specific knowledge on all topics related to import/export, duale-use, trade embargo and other rules and regulations, necessary to ship and receive within Europe and outside. The position is located within the European headquarters in Munich.

Logistics and Trade & Compliance Specialist (m/f/d)

Specific Responsibilities and Duties

  • Plan, organize and execute smooth & efficient operations of logistic activities
  • Maintain metrics, reports, process documentation as well as training and safety reports for the EMEA region
  • Be the main interface for import/export, dual-use as well as custom topics and export/trade compliance to EU/German rules & law (BAFA, CDIU, APL screening, …)
  • Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistic systems, imports or exports or custom issues.
  • Participate in carrier management processes, such as selection, qualification or performance evaluation
  • Monitor product import or export processes to ensure compliance regulatory and /or legal requirements
  • Ensure carrier compliance with company policies or procedures for product transit or delivery
  • Optimize transportation modes, routing or frequency
  • Set-up and coordinate logistic activities- shipment collection, in-transit shipments, export and import clearances and delivery

Specific Knowledge/Experience/Expertise

  • Bachelor degree or Diploma in Logistics Management in Supply Chain Management
  • At least 5 years of hand-on operations experience in warehousing, trade compliance and shipping /freight forwarding.
  • Experience in import and export rules, regulations and compliance issues as well as dual-use/embargo regulations for Europe
  • Excellent knowledge of customs, shipping procedures and related documentations
  • Organizational and analytical skills as well as ability to prioritize task and meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills and ability to communicate with all level within the company
  • A hands-on mentality to drive things and take care with a start-up mentality due to often changes
  • German language skills and fluent English language skills
  • Knowledge of import /export rules and regulation and dual-use/ embargo regulation for the USA would be a plus
  • Experience with process redesign and project management would be a plus
  • Excellent language skills in German and English, both written and verbal
