HR Manager Germany

Job Purpose:
The HR Manager provides high quality operational service to the business units in Germany; anticipating and responding to local management´s needs and advising regarding people management responsibilities and reports to the European HR-Manager.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Business Partner: Proactively establishes strong working relationship with client group. Seeks to understand key business issues & challenges, together with impact on HR.
  • Recruitment/ Selection: Ensures quality recruitment process based on business needs within timeframe. Translating client groups strategy into people “consequences”;
  • Compensation & Benefits: Works with the relevant parties to ensure the availability of up-dated job descriptions, job grading for positions in client group. Supports annual salary review process in client group supported by valid market benchmarks.
  • Performance Development: Manages annual Performance Management Process, advises on appropriate use, ensures application at all levels with a focus on development and establishes a quality monitoring approach. Supports development activities on all levels to enhance current performance and to prepare for future assignments. Coaches line managers as well as employees on developmental aspects.
  • Organizational Development: Participates in change management and organizational development initiatives.
  • International Assignment Management: Operates the local part of international transfers (in/maintenance/out) in close collaboration with IA team and external service providers (e.g. PWC).
  • HR processes: Operates current HR processes and systems related to entry, development, retention and release of employees, ensures quality standards. Participates in HR projects aiming to improve local processes as well as in projects that tailor new global processes to local German needs. Ensures/runs regular exit interviews providing feedback to line and HR.
  • German Employment Regulations: Advocates on do’s and don’ts of German labor law, Works Constitution Act and internal regulations and counsels line managers.
  • Works Council: Manages works council relationship, represents company management at decisions and negotiations with the Works Council. Negotiates and concludes works agreements based on global HR policies and processes.
  • Networking: Actively contributes ideas & solutions to the global HR network as a team player and collaborates closely with internal as well as external service providers.
  • Office Services: Manages office services with 2 receptionists and 1 General Administrator.

We are looking for a


with the following qualifications:



  • Education (minimum/desirable): University degree in social sciences, business degree or equivalent management experience
  • Languages: Fluent in German & English: oral & writing; others desirable
  • Experience: 3 – 5 years experience in HR in a generalist role in a global environment
  • Key Performance Factors: Operational Decision Making, Driving for Results, Business Acumen, Teamwork, Communication with Implant, Facilitating Change and Innovation
